Meet the Rucks Family

In 1996, William Rucks IV and Catherine Rucks made a generous investment in the E. J. Ourso College of Business’ management department. The department was renamed the William W. & Catherine M. Rucks Department of Management shortly thereafter in their honor.

The Rucks' contributions have aided in the Rucks Department of Management being recognized for its outstanding research-driven faculty, student-affiliated organizations, and outstanding alumni. They have established the William W. Rucks IV Endowed Chair and Professor of Management, the Catherine M. Rucks Professor of Management, the William W. and Catherine M. Rucks Professor of Management, and the William W. and Catherine M. Rucks Endowed Scholarship.

Rucks Management News

Read the latest issue of Ourso on the Geaux, the official e-newsletter of the E. J. Ourso College of Business. This month, our finance majors showed their acumen in Bloomberg's 2024 Global Trading Challenge, Rucks Management alumnus Brandon Landry shared his startup experience, we launched a new interdisciplinary minor, and more.

Our alumni are known all over the world, but one alumnus in particular has been trailblazing through the Louisiana culinary scene. 2022 Hall of Distinction inductee Brandon Landry (BS Management, ’01) took a break from managing an impressive restaurant empire to return to campus, where he spoke with the students in Commercial Transactions for Accountants (BLAW 4203) taught by Lee and Cynthia Bloch Distinguished Professor James Fargason.

Thanks to the Rucks International Scholars Award (RISA), LSU management majors can enrich their undergraduate experience and improve their career readiness by participating in a study abroad program. We are highlighting the learning journeys of the 2023-24 RISA recipients, as selected by the Rucks Department of Management.
